Journey to Venice: Step Inside a Living Masterpiece

Built on water and synonymous with romance, Venice is famed for its canals, the largest of which – the Grand Canal – winds its way through the heart of the city.

On arrival in Venice, a feeling of excitement and wonder overwhelms you; nothing compares to the uniqueness of this magical floating city. Imagine a magic door opening, connecting you from the ordinary world to a wonderland of rippling waterways surrounded by historical Byzantine and Renaissance-influenced architecture. The Venetian Gothic style dates to the 12th century and is characterized by its grand and opulent buildings, reflecting the elaborate lifestyle of years gone by.

UNESCO-protected, Venice is a city like no other. With no cars, the sole means of navigation are by boat, gondola, or on foot. This remarkable city is comprised of over 118 small islands, intricately linked by countless bridges that connect each district.

Venice International Film Festival

Move aside Cannes, the Venice International Film Festival, or Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica di Venezia, stands as a testament to cinema's enduring power and artistry. Established in 1932, it holds the prestigious title of being the world's oldest film festival, a pioneering event that first recognized film as a legitimate art form worthy of grand international celebration. Born from the broader cultural institution of the Venice Biennale, the festival's rich history is intertwined with the evolution of cinema itself, reflecting shifts in global politics, artistic trends, and the very definition of cinematic excellence.

The 82nd Venice International Film Festival, organised by La Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbara will be held on the island of Lido di Venezia from 17 August to 6 September 2025. Lets discuss your VIP Ticket Access.

Venice Carnival 2026

Another special annual event in Venice is the Venice Carnival (Carnevale di Venezia), one of the world's most famous and spectacular annual festivals, renowned for its theatrics of extraordinary masks, costumes, and festive atmosphere. Its origins stretch back much further than many realize, with its earliest roots traceable to the 12th century.  While informal celebrations predate it, the Carnival was officially recognized by the Venetian Senate in 1296, marking the day before Lent as a public holiday. It flourished from the 16th to 18th centuries, with masks becoming central to its widespread appeal. Suppressed by Napoleon in 1797, the Carnival lay dormant for nearly two centuries. It was officially revived in 1979 by the Italian government to restore cultural heritage and boost tourism, and has since thrived, drawing millions annually.

Now is the time to start planning the dream - The Venice Carnivale returns from 31 January to 17 February 2026.

The Unveiling of Venice

Indulge in Venice at its most enchanting as we take you to experience extraordinary moments beyond the banal and embark on a journey of unparalleled luxury and authentic discovery. We invite our guests to discover the delicate ecosystem, hidden gems, and rich cultural heritage of this iconic destination. A seamless blend of nature, tranquility, beauty, exquisite local cuisine, and authentic Venetian culture, offering an experience that deeply respects both the environment and local traditions.

MOSE system in Venice

Embark on an exclusive journey to comprehend the intricate environmental dynamics of the Venetian Lagoon. Professor LZ, a distinguished geologist from the Science Marine Institute of Venice, will guide you through the past, present, and future of this iconic city. In this bespoke experience, he will elucidate the delicate relationship between living organisms and their environment, then delve into the causes, impacts, and potential solutions for Venice's subsidence.

The Venetian Lagoon, spanning over 550 km2 and possibly the largest in the Mediterranean Sea, is one of Italy's richest ecosystems, hosting the greatest variety of birds in Northern Italy. Its diverse fauna thrives on numerous sandbars, many of which are almost submerged. This critical habitat attracts countless birds annually for reproduction. While the landscape continuously shifts due to the essential actions of wind and tide, which facilitate water renewal, the lagoon's complex ecosystem is deteriorating, profoundly impacting Venice itself.

Our bespoke panoramic limousine tour with Professor Z will first focus on the MOSE barriers and their architectural significance. Subsequently, the tour will explore the vibrant life and nature within the Venetian Lagoon, including opportunities for bird watching, observing traditional fishing practices, and engaging with local communities.

Birdwatching in the Northern Lagoon

Explore the secluded fishing valleys and wetlands of the northern Lagoon, a place that once inspired Hemingway as he bird-watched and wrote Over the River and Into the Trees. You'll embark on a guided visit to a vast private estate, home to thousands of birds that dot the traditional fishing valleys—a crucial stop on their southward migration. Observe majestic herons, vibrant pink flamingos, and elegant swans as you glide through the marshland barena, a unique environment unlike anywhere else. Sip a glass of Prosecco and a savory bite as you enjoy the sunset on your return journey.

A Culinary and Cultural Journey

Embark on a unique journey through the history, culture, and flavours of the Venetian Lagoon. Our expert guide will lead you to discover precious vineyards, tasting their unique wines and local foods. Visit Sant'Erasmo, Venice's "vegetable garden," a tranquil refuge of lush gardens, orchards, and vineyards. Explore the 19th-century Austrian fort, Torre Massimiliana, and an organic bee apiary, where you'll sample barena honey and exceptional Prosecco produced in the Lagoon. Conclude with a tasting of Orto wine while admiring the Venice skyline from a unique, natural vantage point.

Next, sail to the iconic island of Burano. At Gatto Nero, experience Venice's finest seafood, savoring dishes prepared with immense pride by the owner and his family. The fish is incredibly fresh, pastas and desserts are house-made, and the fritto misto is renowned for its lightness. Don't miss the risotto de Gò, a traditional Burano dish revitalized by Anthony Bourdain. As the owner, a former aspiring musician, says, "Each day our fishermen return with the best the lagoon has to offer," ensuring the kitchen truly sings. Finally, head to Mazzorbo in the northern Lagoon to uncover the remarkable story of a vineyard that has withstood the test of time. Hear tales from its elder caretakers and taste the unique products of this special place, along with other authentic delicacies from Santa Cristina Island.

Aman Venice

Filled with museum-quality treasures, Aman Venice’s home on the Grand Canal is the 16th-century Palazzo Papadopoli, one of the city’s most significant buildings. The great 18th-century painter Tiepolo once lived here, and his frescoes adorn the walls of many of the rooms. In the 19th century, the presiding Papadopoli family turned adjoining buildings into two gardens that, today, are among the city’s rarest private green spaces. When Aman Venice was renovated in 2013, its sensitive incorporation of contemporary comforts won the palazzo a heritage award for Italy’s best restoration.

Our guests are transported to arrive by private limousine boat, from the palazzo’s Reception Hall, a sweeping staircase rises through two levels to the piano nobile, the grandest floor of any palazzo. At the top of the stairs, the vestibule leads to an elegant lounge in what was once the ballroom, with a balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. In the Yellow Dining Room adjacent, Aman’s signature Italian restaurant Arva claims sweeping Grand Canal views and a ceiling painted by Cesare Rotta. The convivial Bar overlooks the Canal Garden and is the perfect spot to watch the colours changing on the canal at sunset. Private dining can be enjoyed in the Blue Dining Room or the Palazzo Kitchen Table, while alfresco dining is offered in the Canal Garden.

Almost all of Aman Venice’s 24 guestrooms and suites overlook the Grand Canal, and many feature unique architectural and artistic features – from painted frescoes to carved fireplaces – by greats such as Tiepolo and Sansovino. Furniture and furnishings throughout the rooms are contemporary, yet redolent of the palazzo’s storied past. This exceptional property is available for exclusive total buyout, offering our clients unparalleled privacy and customization.
